The Mom Market North Shore hosts markets throughout the North Shore of NS, specifically Pictou County. Leah Strickland is the North Shore representative and was born and raised in Pictou, NS and still reside in Pictou with my 1.5 year old son and spouse.

She started her small polymer clay business, Chasing Jam’s, while on Maternity Leave, to give herself an creative outlet, as she always loved to create, whether it was knitting, painting, etc.

As a part time nurse and she has always been intertwined with the community that way, but once she started interacting with the small business community she fell in love. There is nothing else like it. The community spirit that is within our small local businesses is so inspiring, that’s when she found the Mom Market. She applied to be a director for the North Shore of the province and was accepted. It is so much fun meeting our local small entrepreneurs and seeing all the beautiful products they have to offer.
