Shortline Trail

The Short Line Trail was a former railway line that ran along the Northumberland Shore. This is also small part of The Great Trail which is the longest recreational trial in the world. Pictou County is proud to be a part of the 24,000km trail from coast to coast.

25-km multi-use rail trail with numerous access points. Highlights: Creamery Square, Farmers’ Market, Train Station Inn, Patterson Wharf Park, Nelson Park, Sutherland Steam Mill Museum, views of Tatamagouche Bay, impressive bridges over French and Waugh rivers. Walking distance to village amenities. This is the Colchester portion of the Pictou-to-Oxford Shortline Railbed Trail
