The sandcastle and sand sculpturing contest annually attracts over 10,000 people every year. It is the largest single day activity on the Marine Drive. Cash prizes for various categories, live music, food vendors, first aid EHS station, and provincial lifeguards on duty. FREE shuttle bus service transporting people to and from the beach in operation from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm. Bring a positive attitude and your creative ideas along with sand building tools and skills. $5.00 fee for adult groups to participate in the competition (no fee for children & youth under the age of 18). Registration tent is located on the beach to the left of the main stairs leading to the main beach area. Event is rain or shine. Bring sunscreen, sun hat, sweater, sunglasses, insect repellent, water, snacks, and appropriate beach attire. Only service dogs are permitted on the shuttle bus.
